For the first time in a loooong while, I actually woke up to the sun in my eye and welcomed a glorious Sunday. It was a gorgeous day. I went to Ici which is this quaint ice cream shop in Berkeley on College Ave. A friend of mine from work had suggested going to this spot last week and we decided to try it. The ice cream is all homemade, and the flavors are refreshingly new. I had a scoop of the Creme Fraiche Muscat flavor on a homemade cone with a chocolate filled tip. Needless to say I was a happy camper that day. After all the ice cream goodness, I was craving falafels and hummus, and we walked across the street to this small restaurant called Holy Land. It was Mediterranean cuisine, but what they are known for are their Mint Lemonade. It's so refreshing! And they had the best falafels I've ever tasted. That reminds me, I need to get me some hummus soon... yum.

Give A Day

Saturday I went and did some community service for the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day Free", with Uri and Ai. Always an adventure with those girls. We thought we'd be planting trees at Alemany Farm. Turns out we had to work with the Department of Public Works in "beautifying" the middle aisle of Alemany STREET. This involved picking up all the trash stuck in the bushes (surprisingly a lot of trash was thrown in there), and trimming the bushes, which wasn't too bad except that the clippers were heavy for our arms. Note to self: Start weight lifting. It was supposed to rain that day but it turned out to be beautiful when we finished.

Now we need to start planning a Disneyland trip! woohoo

We went to Marnee Thai (I'm addicted!!) on Friday. I was already in starvation mode and wanted to order EVERYTHING on the menu. Then went to Mitchell's Ice Cream for dessert. We tried the Lilikoi Mango Swirl flavor and oh my goodness. It's like I could taste Hawaii. I know. Weird. But what I mean is that it was ridiculously awesome. It was our first time at Mitchell's, and it was the first time I had to take a number for ice cream. But there were at least 20-30 people there waiting. But it was totally worth it.
