Evan and Coke Please

Ahhh.. what a lovely weekend.. Saturday we went to Berkeley for the best Korean BBQ.. Steve's Korean BBQ.. right across from Top Dog. Then to a candy store to get my chocolate gummy bear fix. And since the sun was shining bright that day, Irwin thought it would be nice to take pictures of the East Bay at Lawrence Hall Of Science, but by the time we got there, the good ol' fog started covering our view and it started raining.

Later in the evening was my work holiday party. I wanted a Jack and Coke, but instead the bar had a bottle of Evan Williams.... interesting. All I have to say is, Evan and Coke = good times.

This weather is seriously making me dream of Hawaii. I always go back to pictures of our first trip out there because it was really, the best. trip. ever. Don't get me wrong. I love the rain. But I miss running. In fact, I NEED to go running. The Kaiser 5K is coming up, and its not too long of a distance but STILL. I'm just craving a tan. Thats really what it is. And airy dresses with cute sandals. I was looking up some tropical destinations, and if it were up to me, I could go back to Oahu and be happy. But I'm thinking I should be open to other places. What tropical destination would you go to?

Had a mini vacay in Monterey this weekend because the bf had to work out there. While he was toiling away at work, I was playing bored housewife = wandering through the Del Monte shopping center, picking up a few things at MAC, Body shop, Borders, and Victoria's Secret. (What happened to not shopping this month Maritess? Good one!) Also stopped by Fleet Feet, which is this awesome place to buy running shoes because they take a full assessment of your feet to help you figure out the kind of support you need and what shoe best fits your foot, which in my case I needed something with strong arch support because I have a very high arch. All my other running shoes were causing me knee pain. I wanted to try these babies out as soon as we got back but it was raining. So we just chilled and watched the Hurt Locker which was a pretty awesome movie.

Anyway, aside from shopping, it started to rain so I stayed in our quaint little hotel room by the cozy fireplace, watching random movies on TNT, and just caught up on blogs and online browsing.. putting together my birthday wish list.

nananana everyday its like my ipod's stuck on replay..

The weekend flew by just as quickly as it came.. And it was awesome. Stayed in Friday night and turned into movie bums.. By the way, Mongol was a great movie. I fell asleep towards the end cuz it was past my bedtime.. but it was really really good. It's about the life of Genghis Kahn before he went all crazy and ruled half the world. I loved the way it was filmed, and the story was just so interesting. His life was fairly crazy. Then again, he was crazy.

Then Saturday we woke up surprisingly early and decided to go out for breakfast. Proceeded to do some shopping for the wedding reception we had to attend that night which proved to be very successful. Couldn't drink that much cuz we had to wake up early and go to Napa for Uri's birthday, but it was fun anyway. You don't need to drink to have fun right?? The bride was break dancing in her wedding dress. All I can say is, only she could pull that off. It was the most awesome sight.

And Napa with the besties. Lovely time as always. I miss them all already. It was funny that we could care less for the wine, but we devoured the free samples of bread and dipping oils from Sutter Homes. I didn't have breakfast that morning!! And it didn't help that the lady at that particular winery seemed cracked out of her mind. Anywhoo. Pictures galore...

New Year's Resolutions **Edited**

So after much contemplation on the things that I want to work on for this year, I've compiled my top 10. At the end of the year I will rate myself on how well I reached each goal. Wish me luck!

1. SAVE MONEY. Seriously. Just. Say. No.
2. Make dinner at least once a week.
3. Make something creative once a week - greeting card, poster, whatever - don't forget my graphic design skills.
4. BROWN BAG IT - only buy lunch once every two weeks (if necessary)
5. Read one book every month.
6. Run once a week (I wanted to make this twice a week, but thats totally pushing it), and run a marathon - lets say a half marathon, just to be on the realistic side .. haha
7. Care more about the things that matter, and brush off the things that don't.
8. THINK POSITIVELY. ^_^
9. Try to bring my family closer together - get rid of the drama
10. Stop being so stubborn/be more patient.

I'm starting to feel some anxiety after reading my list.. but I'm ready for the challenge!

Happy New Year!

Okay so I'm a day late in posting. NYE we ended up on Broadway, between Fuse and Horizon, although Horizon is where we ended up during the countdown.. and I had a lot more fun than I expected to have. The crowd was just right, they were playing all the right music, the drinks were flowing.. and I had my sweetie to kiss at midnight ^_^

The next day, New Year's Day, I spent recovering, but not as bad as one would think. I was just exhausted. Stayed in my PJ's all day, and watched the ENTIRE Matrix trilogy because they were showing it on AMC. Afterwards, Irwin and I couldn't believe we had watched it all and felt like slobs because we had stayed home, but to be honest, I couldn't have thought of a better way to celebrate the new year. Relaxing, at home, watching movies and eating pizza. I then proceeded to create Uri's birthday present, and I hope it turns out well. Here's hoping! Then ended the night with watching 500 Days of Summer (finally!). Gawd I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He's got the cute nerdy boy look down pat! And Zooey Deschanel is just beautiful.

Happy 2010! May this year be as awesome as the last!
