oh mannnnn

I just ate a croissant ham and cheese from downstairs, and then I didn't think there was enough cheese in it, so I decided to get me some Doritos.

Now I feel gross. Haven't been running, and I don't have time to go today.. and let's face it, even if I did, I prolly STILL wouldn't go.

Need to stop being so lazy. Like. Now.

Necklace Tie

So the morning started out chaotic. I guess I turned off my alarm and proceeded to go back to sleep. Woke up in a panic.. brushed my teeth real quick.. doused my hair in dry shampoo.. got dressed and ran out the door. I would've made it to work at my usual time but there was actually traffic on the bridge. The whole time I was thinking "Thank GOD I already planned my outfit last night.. and thank GOD I take 2 showers a day so I had taken a shower last night."

Anyway, got ready at work and continued with the rest of the day. Nothing really eventful. Just full of meetings.

But I was proud of my outfit for today.

I basically made it revolve around this wonderful little necklace tie (a birthday gift from Uri). I got a few compliments (oddly enough from boys) and it made me feel professional but cool.

shirt Gap, jeans and sunglasses H&m, necklace Roxas, shoes Cathy Jean

On another note, my diet is a fail. I mean, I'm eating the usual stuff, but I haven't been going to the gym. I finally got a Wii fit that is currently still sitting in its unopened box because I still haven't fully unpacked my stuff from this weekend. Gawd I'm going to be super fat when I go to Vegas with the girls. But it's cool. They'll still love me. Right? :-)

Updated Memorial Weekend

Alrighty so we got back last night around 7:30, I packed my lunch for work, unpacked the GINORMOUS amount of food my mom made me take home, watched the last few minutes of the Laker game with Irwin, and then passed out. But I got my 8 hours of sleep so I wasn't too tired today.

But now I will recap the fun that was had this weekend:

I wanted to leave by 12 at the latest.. but Irwin didn't get off work until around 12, and he still had to finish packing, take care of my car.. and eat. So we didn't leave till about 2:30. Just as we got onto the 5, I was hungry because we both hadn't really eaten lunch, and I was craving Carl's Jr all week so we stopped at the first sign of that happy yellow star. The drive down wasn't actually too bad, before I knew it, we were already driving through the Grapevine.

But of course, the traffic started once we were halfway through LA. GOOD GAWD the traffic. It was terrible. I don't know how people can live and commute in LA. It's so crazy. Anyway we finally made it home, and of course my parents insisted that we eat till we couldn't eat anymore. And for some reason I wasn't tired so I ended up playing around with Mochi till about 1 or 2 in the morning. I had wanted to go to Paul's birthday party at Libertine but the traffic in the other direction towards West Hollywood was ridiculous.. so that was a no go.

Woke up around 8 to my favorite home cooked breakfast by mom and dad. Just bacon and eggs, but its always the best bacon and eggs I ever eat because they make sure the bacon is always wonderfully crispy.

So after feeling fat, we got ready and went to the Citadel to do some shopping. I haven't been there since I was a child, so it was cool to go back and see this place that my aunt's loved to go to every time they came to visit. Richie was our trustee chauffeur. It's always wonderful being able to hang out with him. It's always good times.

I found some awesome clothes at Levi's and American Apparel. And Richie bought me these AMAZING white leather high top chuck taylor's that I fell in love with. Thanks Richie!! I also bought a shirt that I ended up changing into afterwards because it was lighter to wear than the shirt I had on.

I was also getting the most awesome compliments on my outfit in almost every store I went to. From my boots, my shirt, to my lipstick. It was great. And this one girl even stopped to tell me she had the same shirt, except she bought hers at Urban Outfitters for 60 bucks, and I told her mine was from Forever 21 for 20 bucks. Needless to say she cried.

And then we decided we didn't have time to see the Queen Mary so we headed home for some yummy Korean BBQ. Then decided to take some pics before I forgot:

We also went to get my favorite drink ever, a Green Tea Frappuccino with Boba from Boba Loca. I've only seen Boba Loca in So Cal, and they're the only ones who make it. It's pretty much heaven.

After dinner, we watched the rest of the Laker game and then went to good ol' Buena Park Mall to watch the new Terminator. I must say that I actually really liked the movie. I'm really not a film critic and I always say I'm the worst person to ask if a movie is good because as long as it entertained me, it was good. Irwin on the other hand is super critical of movies and he didn't like it as much. He said the story line wasn't that great, like they put the movie together hella quick. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the story line though. The guy who plays the new Terminator though is pretty awesome. But this movie was still not as good as Start Trek.

It was already pretty late when we got out of the movie, but we went to Richie's new place for a mini photoshoot with his roommate. I don't have the pics yet cuz Ron still has to upload them, but here's the pre-photoshoot pics I took. Ron is pretty good at this, his set up was awesome too.

The Minorities is the dance group my brother is (or was?) part of. His apartment is also apparently only a temporary spot until the actual apartment is done being built.

The Grove in Anaheim where Jamie Foxx is set to perform. One of the many views from Richie's apartment.

Woke up late, got ready to go to Tara's to visit baby Lana (born 10 lbs, 22 inches). We got there and she's basically this cute little fat blob of a baby. I loved it. Too bad she was tired the entire time we were there.

We didn't stay too long because we were SUPPOSED to go to the Queen Mary, but all of us were hungry so my parents went to South Coast Plaza while me, Irwin, and Richie went to the Spectrum to go eat.

mmmmm Cheesecake Factory. I had my favorite cheesecake, the White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut Cheese Cake.

Didn't feel like shopping afterwards so we went back to Richie's spot and played Resident Evil 5. It was pretty funny. Then went home. Ate some more and chilled till it was time to sleep.

Took pics of Mochi, packed, ate and sang the whole way home.

And some miscellaneous pics from the trip:

phew. that was a big picture post. I miss So Cal already. Miss the parents, Richie, and Mochi. Can't wait to go back home again.

So I'm back from my mini vacation, and I was so sad that it went by so fast! I have pictures to post and a lot more to say but I'll wait till later to post. I just have to say, that I miss the warmth of So Cal, and Green Tea Boba Fraps from Boba Loca. I miss my parents of course, Richie, and Mochi. Can't wait to see them again.

Day 4: Special K Diet - on hold

Okay so I came to the conclusion that dieting THIS week is useless. Why? Because I will be going home this weekend where my mom is bound to stuff me with my favorite foods and say that I'm too skinny and I need to eat anyway. And who can argue with Mom? No one. Not even my dad, although he thinks its amusing to do it anyway.

So, I'm still kinda on the diet, as in I'm eating cereal in the morning, eating whatever I brought for lunch, and not eat so much in between.. but I haven't had the energy to run.

My eustachian tube still hasn't cleared up, and I'm starting to worry that it's going to take a longer time than I anticipated to clear. UGH. Annoying.

On another note, I always vowed never to buy shoes online because I can never be sure if they'll fit me, cuz my feet always fluctuate between the regular and half sizes. But I bought a pair of Marc Jacobs that fit like a dream.. so I figured maybe I'm just under estimating the power of online shoe shopping. SO, I went shoe shopping crazy and when the shoes came in.. 2 of the 4 pairs fit.. the other 2 were a half size too big. Now I have to return them and I really don't want to. It's just a hassle. Here are the shoes I'm returning.. If only they were my size they'd be perfect:

And this is what I ended up keeping:

I was thinking of just exchanging them for the right size.. but since they didn't fit the first time, I took it as a sign that I should stop spending anyway. I have so many shoes and clothes now.. so I'm all prepared for summer!

But my new favorite (I bought yesterday since I thought I was going to have to return ALL of the shoes), is this pair that strongly resembles a pair of wedges that I can't remember anymore but I know I wanted:

I'm wearing them today and they make me feel so "fierce" for some reason. haha. Gawd I'm starting to sound like Perez. Anyway, today is my Friday!! I have a lot of stuff to do and take care of after work.. and then rest up for the drive home tomorrow, so excited!!

Day 3: Special K Diet

Okay maybe I should edit this diet to "the cereal diet" because I'm not restricting myself to just Special K.. I'm mixing it up with Cheerios and some imitation Honey Bunches of Oats.

But so far so good. I went to the gym yesterday with Irwin.. ran for a good 45 minutes, and according to the machine I lost 326 calories so that felt pretty awesome.. Oddly enough my appetite hasn't increased yet and my body isn't as sore as I thought it would be. So maybe my body isn't as weak as I thought it was? I dunno.

FINALLY went to bed at 8:30, or technically sometime before 8:30 cuz I was pooped. I haven't had 8 hours of sleep in the past week and a half and it was really getting to me.

Anyway, I can't wait to finally go home this weekend. The drive may be a bitch cuz we may end up leaving at 12.. so we'd hit LA by 5/6pm = LA T R A F F I C. UGH. I'm hoping we can leave earlier.. but we'll see. I just want to get there in time to relax and then go out for Paul's birthday party. Haven't seen any Pius people in a loooong while, so it'll be nice to see some of them again.

Okay not much else on my mind so I'll go now.

An outfit post

The fashion blogs that I've been obsessively reading lately, have prompted me to be a little more creative when it comes to my clothing. So I've decided to document my day to day style (whenever I can) just to see how it progresses.

Here is what I wore to my final.. and proceeded to wear till night time on Broadway. It was my shredding project (inspired by a blog.. just can't remember which one). It came out much better than I thought it did.. but I should've taken a better pic of the shirt itself. I was too camera shy though:

I guess I'm going backwards, but this is what I wore on Friday to work. It was beautiful today, but somewhat cold in the morning, so my old or shall I say "vintage" denim Guess jacket was perfect to put over a dress:

Oh btw, thats not a real cigarette. That was Kat's Electric Cigarette. Its basically a portable hookah. It's supposed to help smokers quit. It's pretty awesome because you can smoke pretty much anywhere, as the smoke that comes out of your mouth is just water vapor.. And Kat got the menthol flavored one and it was pretty delish.

Okay, that is all. It's almost bed time and the Sudafed has started to kick in. ::yawn:: good night.

Day 2: Special K Diet

Yesterday I thought I would be fine on this diet. I've done it before and its not like I'm starving myself, I'm simply limiting the amount of food I eat.

But then, something happened to my ear. Not sure what it was, but I called the doctor to make an appointment after work. I think I mentioned it in my previous post, but I was hearing things funny out of my left ear, like an echo of my voice. Or when I was playing music in the car there was this weird echo but it made the voice of the singer sound deeper. It was so strange. It was like there was cotton in my ear and I couldn't pop it.

Anyway, so back to how my ear affected my diet. Kinda. I started feeling light headed and dizzy, so I thought maybe I was hungry. I had a bowl of Special K and then a banana 2 hours later, but my body is used to 2 bags of chips at least and 2 pieces of toast ALONG with a bowl of cereal by 10am. So, not wanting to faint at work, I went to get a bag of Doritos. (I fail.)

And that's another thing, vending machines are EEEEVIL. ESPECIALLY the ones at work because they're SO cheap! 25 cents for a bag of chips when at any other vending machine they'd be $1.00. They make it so easy for me to just go up and take whatever I want. However, I find myself getting anxious everytime I make a selection because I'm scared that my chips or cookies will get stuck, which has happened only a couple times, but thats enough to make me nervous.

Stupid vending machine. A blessing and a curse.

So after I eat my bag of chips I'm okay, and then I continue the rest of my day on my diet.

Go to the doctor, and he tells me my eustachian tube is clogged because the rest of my ear is fine. So I can't really do anything except take a nasal spray he prescribed and Sudafed to try and drain it. Gah. I was hoping to wake up feeling better but the clogged tube is still clogged.

And back to the diet. I already had my bowl of cereal, and I also had some lemon water to help "cleanse" my system. Hopefully it won't make my stomach hurt too much, but I guess its for the best. Can't wait to go home and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

Haight with Uri

I had been so excited all week to hang out with Uri, do some shopping, and see Star Trek again so I could see Chris Pine.

But there ended up being some downers to our long awaited hang-out.

1. The stupid drunken people that participated in Bay to Breakers. I think we just got there after everyone had pretty much gotten belligerent. Everyone was so rude, and irritating, and annoying. In almost every store we walked into, there was SOMEONE arguing with the store owner/cashier. It was ridiculous.

2. It was pretty hot yesterday, and all of the intoxicated people along with their BO were rampant EVERYWHERE.

3. We witnessed one fight on the sidewalk.

I mean when we first got there, it was awesome to see everyone in costume and what not.. but after a while I just wasn't happy anymore. The mixture of heat and annoying people really got to me.

And THEN, we, actually Uri, almost got ripped off at a little vintage shop. Drama drama drama. Stupid cashier lady. But whatev, we will be more careful from now on.

Uri found her beloved two finger ring, but it was ridiculously expensive. And I couldn't find my knuckle ring, a la Elizabeth and James ring:

But I did walk away with an awesome beanie from this equally awesome hat store, Goorins Bros.( Note to self, take Irwin there)

And then we were going to watch a movie.. but then minds were changed and I headed home, which was actually okay because I was pretty tired. My allergies were attacking me.

Watched Push and went to bed.

Woke up this morning and couldn't hear right. My head felt so stuffed up even though my sinus wasn't. I still hear funny.. but hopefully it goes away by the end of the day. Ugh.

Also, today is Day 1 of my Special K/any other cereal diet. Already had my one bowl and am due to eat a banana at 8. I'm kind of excited to go running after work today. I've missed it.

Took my last final for the semester yesterday.. and I must say I feel great. It was one bitch of a final.. it took two hours!! My brain was actually hurting halfway through the test.. it was just crazy. It should be illegal to have a final last for that long. But it was all worth it.

But that final couldn't get me down because the weather was FANTASTIC. It was SO warm! We went to Berkeley to eat at our favorite Korean BBQ spot. EVERYONE was out.. it was ridiculously warm there. Then proceeded to the city to my hair appointment so I could hack off more of my hair. I love Yvonne's. No matter how busy she is.. she always makes my hair look great.

Then met up with Justin and headed over to Broadway for some early drinking and good times. And the weather seemed happy for us too because it was AMAZINGLY warm in the city. I couldn't believe it. This is what I was wearing last night and I was worried because I hadn't brought a jacket. Turns out I didn't need one and I loved every minute of it.

And Irwin was really happy too.. chopping it up with random strangers. This one guy in particular was hilarious. He claimed to have been a fireman back in the day, and he was saved from a brain tumor last year so he's been trying to live his life to the fullest.

He's a reminder to me of how I try to make the best of my life because you never know when you're gonna go. Morbid, I know.. but for some reason I always think like that. Fear of dying without living and loving everyday of my life. Scary.

Anyway, time to get ready to meet Uri for some fun in the city!

the weekend is almost here!!

I'm one final away from freedom! At least till summer school starts.. but that's okay because I have a month of "vacation" time to fit in.

Here are the things I think about that get me excited to wake up in the morning:

1. Going to So Cal for Memorial Weekend. Can't wait to see the parents,

2. The brother:

3. The Mochi:
4. JANELLE!! And the other ho bags for our Vegas trip in June:

5. And then these pretty ones in August:

It's going to be exciting!! I just have to get through this Saturday and I'll be good. I'll start my Special K Diet and stick to it so I will not be ashamed to wear a bikini in Vegas. Woohoo!

You've Got Mail

I am a movie fiend. Irwin calls me IMDB = Irwin's Movie Database. I can for the most part tell you at least one other movie an actor/actress has been in, a real life fact about that person, and sometimes.. what they're going to do next.

I'm not sure why I have that ability, but I think it may have to do with me always trying to get to know people "behind the scenes". I like trying to figure out where they came from and how they grew up because it can explain a lot of how they are right now. And I'm always curious as to how these famous Hollywood actors grew up, just to see how they got to the big screen (or sometimes the small screen).

But the main thing I love about movies is just being IN the movie theater. There's just something nice about being away from whatever troubles you're having, or just a way to relax and enjoy some time to not think about your life for 2 hours. For 2 hours.. I can be living someone else's life, or just observing it, and that in itself is wonderful to me. A temporary escape.

I make it sound like my life is miserable but it's not. It's just another way to enjoy a story, and I LOVE stories. Reading has lead to my Coke bottle bottom thick glasses.. I would read book after book after book. Now that I just don't have time.. or I fall asleep after a page or 2.. Movies seem to be the easier route to get my Story-fix in for the day.

Anyway, so yes I'm obsessed with movies. I have loaded as many movies as my iphone and ipod touch will take in, and I am currently watching You've Got Mail. I always watch it on days that I'm feeling serene, hopeful and happy. You've Got Mail always makes me feel warm inside.. and it always makes me want to get coffee from Starbucks (subliminal advertising!)

I just love the interaction between Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. But in general I heart Meg Ryan. I loved her in Sleepless in Seattle, Kate and Leopold.. and I'm sure there are other movies but I can't think of them at the moment. I love the way she speaks, and I can't explain why.

But aside from that, I love the idea behind the movie.. Just being able to talk to some random person about anything and everything. I miss having those kinds of conversations. I feel like there's so much going on right now.. to talk about nonsense would just be a waste of time. I guess that's why I'm going to start using this blog more. This will be outlet for nonsense.

Alright, time to get back to work (and my movie).

Suze Orman

It was so awesome!! She's the nicest person EVER. And I could feel how powerful she was.. it was quite intimidating.

Anyway, she came to our office on Monday to give a talk, and a select few were allowed to be in the auditorium to see her talk, the rest of us had to settle for her talk via web conference in one of the meeting rooms. So there I am in complete awe that she's there speaking to us, and I'm sad that my name didn't get picked to be in the auditorium.

However.. her books were being sold in our other building (where she was giving the talk).. so I went over there after her presentation was over.. and just as I'm getting in line to buy the book (which was pre-autographed), a door opens and out comes Suze herself, about to walk right in front of me.

In a panic, I grab her arm quickly (but as gently as I can) and ask her if she can sign my book (another book that I had that inspired me to be smart financially). And she happily obliges until I realize I have no pen!! I ask anyone and everyone for a pen and she even had to follow me to the front desk to ask our receptionist for one.. and she signs my book and I was lucky enough to have my picture SORTA taken with her.. (someone was just taking random pictures)

Too bad its kinda dark.. I haven't had time to edit the lighting in Photoshop.. but AHH! hopefully she has passed her Money Magic Powers to me!!

I have the stupidest expression on my face but that's because I was still in disbelief that I was lucky enough to meet her.. and then I think I was talking. But no, I suppose I always have a stupid expression on my face.. :-(

On a whole other note.. I had my First Final yesterday.. I'll be officially done with the semester on Saturday. Last night's final though was such a joke. I mean.. My professor is already ALWAYS unorganized, but damn, he gave me a final that was missing a page.. and then replaced it with someone else's answers!! It was distracting me and making me second guess my answer choices.. but whatev. On to Chemistry!!
