Goodbye 2009

After my accident, I still wouldn't consider 2009 a bad year. And at least it ended on a very high note. As always, I hope the next year will be more spectacular than the last, but I know that only I can make that possible.

Just a few things to reflect on.. the good and bad of 2009.

- turned 25, a good age, at least thats what I think
- celebrated our 3 year anniversary
- fought and made up through some of the toughest fights we've had
- prayed and prayed and lived to make my life better and help make other lives happier
- went to hawaii and made new friends
- got into a car accident
- got a new car
- got a promoted
- got a new view on how to live my life to the fullest
- got an idea of how to achieve my goals
- loved my family and my boyfriend like no one could ever love any other person
- lost the last 5 pounds I had needed to achieve my goal weight (so what if it took a whole year?)

My goals for 2010:
1. Quit smoking
2. Stop letting every little thing bother me
3. Visit my family more
4. Try and reconcile differences
5. Laugh more and really feel happy

In a few hours, we're heading into the mass chaos of San Francisco. Still have no idea what to wear, but my closet is about to explode so there's got to be SOMETHING there right?

Goodbye 2009, thank you for being good to me and my family.

Christmas Week Recap Part II

Christmas day was fairly uneventful. Went to Church, ran into a random USF person who was also visiting relatives in Vegas. I always love going to the Guardian Angel Church just off the strip. (I know, weird, going to Church in Vegas). The choir is the best, and they have a full band. And as I was walking out of the Church, I witnessed a proposal. Very sweet. The only reason I looked was that I heard a scream, and then saw the man on one knee. Made me feel all warm inside. What a nice Christmas present right?

Then met up with the cousins to watch Avatar in 3D. The IMAX one had been sold out, so we settled for regular 3D. OMG LOVE that movie. Was a lot better than I expected. Afterwards, proceeded to go home and eat some more and sleep. Merry Christmas ^_^

Christmas Week Recap

Still not finished with all the pictures from Christmas week, but I've uploaded all my faves.

Portland:
Surprise birthday party for Irwin's brother. (He was really surprised ^_^) Yummy food (mmm artichokes) and wii sports with the kids. Then snowboarding for the first time. I caught on surprisingly fast. I have more balance than I thought I did!

Then flew to LA:
Went last minute shopping like crazy, packed up the house and stuffed more gifts than luggage in the car! Didn't really have time to take pictures here, so lets move on to Vegas

Vegas:
Christmas Eve, did some more shopping, bought my mom and auntie gifts that they never thought they'd receive from me yet. Cousins came over with their kids and we had the best time watching them open their presents! (And in case you couldn't tell.. I was following Mia around with my camera.. She's so adorable!)

back back back and forth...

Finally came home last night after my short vacation visiting with the fam. Couldn't wake up to save my life this morning, and slept in another 2 hours before getting ready for work. And what luck! NO TRAFFIC! The radio was playing all my favorite songs.. and I drove through the fog only to be rewarded with a pretty blue sky and a beautiful sunrise. It was like the Bay was welcoming me back. I was in such a good mood.

I miss my family though, I feel like it gets harder and harder for me to leave. But Irwin is definitely worth coming home to ^_~

I have many pictures to post from Portland, LA, and Vegas (yup, all in one week), but here are a few so I can at least say I posted some...

Should. go. to. sleep.

Hopefully finished packing everything. Was quite a feat because I was trying to stuff gifts for fam, and 2 boxes of gifts from Irwin into my suitcase and rolley carry-on. Oh ya, and the Wii I'm giving to my parents. I weighed my suit case and its EXACTLY 50 pounds. man oh man.

Anywhoo, it's been lovely at work. Had a cookie exchange on Thursday (in place of a White Elephant gift exchange), which I appreciated cuz I looooooooove cookies! I decided to make cheesecake cookies, compliments of a recipe I found by Paula Dean. Gawd I love that woman and her two sticks of butter!

Here are the results:

Then today, since it was my last day in my position, and my last day of work before my vacay, I decided to bake little treats for my team, as well as give the select few their special gifts. This is what was given:

Christmas Dinner with the Faves

I had been looking forward to this dinner with my friends for the past 2 or 3 weeks. I miss them all! We had a great time complete with a yummy dinner, presents, pictures, and uniting in our love of the Beatles with Beatles Rock Band. I love these people!
